Silicon Insider szerint az elmúlt napokban komoly verseny bontakozott ki három Twitter-oldal között. A cél: 1 millió
rajongó követő elérése.
Az első két versenyző Britney Spears Ashton Kutcher és a CNN.
Britney Spears nevét ismerem. Kutcherét soha nem hallottam, de fotója alapján valami tinibálványnak tippeltem. (Úgy
jól látom, nem tévedtem.) A CNN-t - gondolom - nem kell bemutatnom.
Kemény finis után végül Kutcher győzött (pillanatnyilag 1,222,031 követője van), a CNN másodikként lépett be a milliomosok klubjába. Szegény Britney eddig csak 995,807 követőt gyűjtött be. (Legfeljebb azzal vigasztalódhat, hogy jelentősen megelőzte a csak a hetedik helyen szereplő Barack Obamát (749,682 követő).

A CNN, pontosabban a CNN Breaking News, még pontosabban a
twitter.com/cnnbrk/ több szempontból is érdekes. Bár 28 hónapja működik, eddig mindössze 719-szer frissült. (Ennél sok magyar csiripelő is lényegesen szorgosabb). A frissítések többsége is az elmúlt hetekben került ki.
A @cnnbrk Twitter-"előfizetés" tulajdonosa nem a CNN, hanem eg bizonyos James Cox, aki eddig hobbiból rakosgatta ki a híreket. A napokban megvette tőle az oldalt a CNN (itt-ott 1 millió dolláros árról is olvasni) és azonnal szerződtette is "szerkesztőnek". (Ahogy korábban
beszámoltam róla , a BBC is későn kapcsolt, ezért utólag meg kellett vásárolnia a twitter.com/bbc accountot.)
Azt, hogy egy "celebet" akkor is sokan követnek, ha mérsékelten aktív, valahol megértem. (Várnak, figyelnek, reménykednek, hátha elcsippentenek valami érdekességet.) De miért követi több, mint 1 millió ember a szűkszavú, naponta legfeljebb 1-2 hírt közreadó hírgyár frissítéseit?
Biztos válaszom nincs, csak tippelni tudok. A Twitterholic.com főoldalán a nevekre kattintva megkapod a követők számának alakulását mutató grafikont. Jól látszik, hogy az utolsó hónapokban mindenkinél dinamikusan növekszik ez a szám. A legtöbben azt követik, akit/amit ismernek. A CNN-t sokan ismerik... Ennyi lenne a siker titka?

At this point, they might not see a way out.” General Jodice’s comments, coming on Sunday as former rebel fighters battled their way into the heart of Surt and then were driven back by sniper and mortar fire, tempered the boasts of anti-Qaddafi forces that Surt would soon be theirs and once again underscored the limitations that have confronted NATO throughout the air campaign. NATO’s mandate to protect civilians who are threatened or have come under attack is complicated by the alliance’s caution in striking targets — like buildings where snipers are hiding — that could result in the death or injury of civilians. “The ability of NATO to affect the fighting inside the city is small,” said a senior NATO diplomat on Monday who was not authorized to speak on the record. “The fight now is really between the forces on the ground.”The advances by the anti-Qaddafi forces on Sunday came after three days of intense fighting that included some of the Libyan conflict’s bloodiest battles to date. Szerintem egyértelmű. Elég minden napra egy BRÉKING hír, de az akkor kell, amikor BRéKING. Ezért jó a CNNbrk. Sőt, számomra még így is túl sok a mellébeszélés, nem is "követem".
